Go for flowers that make a sentimental statement, but free yourself from believing they have to be red roses to count. Read More about Make It A Month Of Creative Romance »

Celebrating Galentine’s Day With Your Best Friends

Ever wish there was a holiday intended exclusively for celebrating your best friends? Well we here at Peoples Flowers are here to tell you that now there is. It's called Galentine's Day, and while yes, this is a female-centric occasion (sorry fellas), the fact that it exists at all is a win for friendships everywhere. First proposed in a 2010 episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation, when main character Leslie Knope grabbed her gals and took them out to lunch, proclaiming it "only the best day of the year," Galentine's Day is meant to be celebrated on February 13th. Daisies To Help Them Get Well

Here at Peoples Flowers, we're well aware of the healing powers of flowers and plants. And the science supports us: a 2008 study by the American Society of Horticultural Science found that hospitalized patients who have flowers or a potted plant in their rooms use less pain medication and have on average lower blood pressure than their flower-less counterparts. Fresh blooms have long been used medicinally, while flower essence has also been reported to have therapeutic value (consider the popularity of lavender as a de-stresser). Flowers and plants oxygenate the air as well, an important feature when you take into account that those who are feeling under the weather are likely bedridden or at least home bound. It's no surprise that flowers are our go-to when it comes to get well gifts. Read More about Daisies To Help Them Get Well »

Winter’s Snowcapped Blooms

We're taking some design inspo from winter's snowy landscape and building it into our flower designs, and we at Peoples Flowers don't mean to brag, but we're loving the results. There may be a lot of bright blooms available in winter, but we're turning instead toward that soft palette of whites and neutrals that mimic the natural world (think snowy woods). We invite the feeling of being outside in because, of course, we have fewer chances to be in nature during winter. And there's nothing like the serene mood you get from winter's white flowers and range of greens. Read More about Winter’s Snowcapped Blooms »

Of the many looks unveiled in International Floral Distributors annual trend forecast for floral design, we here at People's Flowers are focusing this week's blog on "Incarnation of Earth's Element." It may be a mouthful, but the style itself isn't. With an emphasis on organic minimalism, this earthy trend celebrates nature in unconventional, modern designs.
