For Friendship Week Send Flowers

friendship weekThe week of August 16 through the 22 is National Friendship Week. It is an annual observance that is designed to encourage people to take the time to show their friends how much they care about them. Our floral design team here at People’s Flowers thinks that flowers are the perfect way to show friends how much you care about them.

In 1930, Joyce Hall, the founder of the Hallmark Card Company came up with the idea for a Friendship Day. She began to promote it, hoping to get people to show their friends how much they cared by sending and sharing cards.

On July 20, 1958, Dr. Artemio Bracho suggested there be a World Friendship Day. He came up with the idea at a dinner party he had for friends at his home in a town along the River Paraguay. The town was roughly 200 miles north of the city of Asunción, Paraguay.

Life’s Lemonade

Life’s Lemonade is an ultra-summery arrangement that starts with a cube-shaped clear glass vase. We fill the vase with sliced lemons and limes. The flowers include lilies, spray roses, solidago, and daisies. It’s a gift that’s sure to brighten any friend’s spirits.

Pink Mini Cube

The Pink Mini Cube is a delightful arrangement to give to a friend. The small cube holds a combination of pink carnations, pink mini carnations, and pink roses. We accent the bouquet with seed eucalyptus and a pale blue ribbon.

Pretty N’ Precious

Pretty N’ Precious is a beautiful arrangement of roses and spray roses. We choose bold and pale pink flowers of both types of roses. The contrast between the dark and light shades of pink makes this a special and dramatic arrangement. It’s a touch of elegance that’s sure to touch any friend’s heart.
