Studies prove that people who show kindness on a regular basis are more likely to be happy, content, and full of joy. And on February 17th, we all have an opportunity to increase our levels of happiness by participating in Random Acts of Kindness Day. Celebrated worldwide, the day has become an international effort to increase kindness, generosity, and compassion – and at Peoples Flowers, we celebrate the gestures that people make every day, large and small. They make the world a little kinder, a little more beautiful, a little more full of joy. We’d love to partner with you as you plan out some random acts of your own.
“Goodness is about character – integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people.” ~ Dennis Prager
There are many ways to spread goodwill to the people around you. Whether sending a bouquet to a lonely friend, or baking cookies for the office, these types of actions are universally met with gratitude, and often make people want to do something nice themselves! If you have the opportunity, we love the idea of including children in the planning for Random Acts of Kindness Day. Kids love being part of something bigger than themselves, and by letting them help, you will be teaching them to pay it forward as well. That is a life lesson the world can appreciate. Consider helping kids bake a cake for someone special, or help them look for toys and books to donate to other children in need.
Talk to them about practicing random acts of kindness on a regular basis, and ask for their ideas – you may be surprised by what they come up with.
Peoples Flowers has floral designs to thank teachers, gift baskets ready to be delivered to the local fire house, and balloons to brighten a shut-ins day. Stop into our Albuquerque shop and let’s discuss how we can cover our hometown with kindness this February 17th. Because who doesn’t want to spread a little happiness?
